Dongfeng-Honda Ciimo – an 8th-gen Civic for China

Dongfeng-Honda has introduced the Ciimo sedan specifically for the Chinese market – if the shape in the photos look familiar, it is; the Ciimo is pretty much the eight-generation Civic, repackaged for China.

The car – which made its debut in Beijing – is available in only one engine variant form, this being the 1.8 litre i-VTEC, mated to either a five-speed manual or five-speed auto transmission. Kit includes ABS with EBD and active headrests.

Pricing for the Ciimo begins from 111,800 Yuan, and word is that the Ciimo name won’t just be worn on this one, but rather on a series of models as it becomes a sub-brand. Reports indicate that a SUV based on the CR-V is next on the cards.

Syahrini Tuntut Justin Bieber Minta Maaf Kerana Hina Indonesia

Semakin besar, semakin kurang ajar?

Jika mencecah 20, bak kata Nabil, “Lu pikirlah sendiri!”

BAIC concepts ride on Saab 9-5 and 9-3 legs

Saab Automobile may be well and truly out for the count, but the company’s spirit continues on in the form of its platforms, adapted to a host of Chinese offerings.

Beijing Automotive Group showcased a series of concept models in Beijing – all styled in partnership with Italian design house Fioravanti – that utilise the 9-5 and 9-3 platforms as their starting base.

The list is led by the C70G and C60F sedans, which ride on a reworked 9-5 platform called the M-trix, and the C50E sedan and a rather cool-looking C51X crossover utilise 9-3-based architecture. BAIC owns Chinese production rights to the two platforms, having acquired them from GM three years ago when the US automaker was still owner of the Swedish brand.

The state-owned company also had the C90L as its integral display, with the B-pillarless executive limousine featuring suicide doors and a V12 mill, among others.

Jo Kukathas as YB

Did you know that Jo Kukathas is female? She’s the person that plays a grossly inappropriate and stereotypical YB (Yang Berhormat) while Carmen Soo looks on. This was the best skit I watched last night at the Boh Cameronian Arts Awards 2012.

The photos I took of YB’s range of emotions and gestures is ripe for an exploitable, like the scene where Hitler completely loses it in Valkyrie. Heh.

Here’s a short video clip that had me in stitches. Hilarious.

BERSIH 3.0: Rakaman Penuh Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim Di Dataran Merdeka

Nota Admin

APRC: Proton fails to convert pace into results in New Caledonia – Gaurav Gill leads Team MRF to a 1-2 finish

Round 2 of the 2012 FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) has ended, and the New Caledonia rally was won by Team MRF’s Gaurav Gill. The Indian driver’s teammate Chris Atkinson made it a 1-2 for the Skoda Fabia S2000 powered team. In third spot was Kiwi Brian Green in his Mitsubishi Lancer.

Team Proton headed to the Pacific island with high hopes but failed to convert strong pace into strong results. APRC debutant PG Andersson led the rally from the start and set fastest times in three of the four special stages, but the second day saw the Swede’s car experience an abrupt loss of power as a result of a water crossing, a predicament that would later cost him to lose more than 14 minutes.

After a new head gasket at final service. Andersson’s final day fightback lasted only 6km before the engine stopped once again, this time for good.

Things didn’t go well in the other Proton, too. APRC defending champ Alister McRae retired in SS2 but continued on the final day under Super Rally format, winning three of the day’s six special stages to secure seven championship points. But he wasn’t eligible for a podium finish.

“We had hoped for a repeat of last year’s double podium results in New Caledonia but the reality of rallying is such that all the hardwork and preparation is never a guarantee of a strong finish,” said Datuk Abdul Razak Dawood, Head of Proton Motorsports.

The next APRC round is the Rally of Queensland in late May. The Aussie rally will be the third of six rounds this season, and it’s vital for Proton to get back to winning ways Down Under if they are to prevent Team MRF from running away with their title. Still early days, though.
